Hunting and Shooting

Picture
Trying to be sustainable and rely less on supermarkets and intensively farmed produce, I hunt and shoot as much as possible putting game in the freezer, this meat is a superb source of protein, tastes great and even better is free!!  Lucy is happier when the game that I have returned home with is out of its jacket and jointed ready for use, so I butcher, and prepare all of my own game, even if this means turning the kitchen into a butchers shop.

As part of the country life I both beat and pickp on local shoots as well as hold a syndicate place for a full gun, beating keeps me active with all the sticky East Anglian mud making walking all that more enjoyable, and picking up keeps all the dogs focused and happy throughout the winter and brings in some welcome extra birds for the freezer.

As well as game bird shooting, I actively stalk deer holding my DSC level 1 and I am working on completing my DSC level 2, assisting local landowners with deer management through the implementation of a robust deer management plan.
